MA Lopez joined the Winchester Tennis Society (Winchester Jaguars) in 2020 during his first year at university for a brief few months before the UK went into another Lockdown.
At the beginning of his second year, he was elected Captain of the Men's Team, a title which he would hold for three years running.
During his time as Captain, MA held team trials and selected members for the Jaguars Men's Team. He held three weekly training sessions for both the Men's and Women's teams and coached his fellow teammates to prepare for weekly BUCS matches against other UK universities in their division.
Along with the Women's Captain, MA also ran two weekly Social Tennis sessions. These sessions enabled non-team players to learn new skills and improve their tennis ability while also getting to play against friends and fellow students.
2021-2022
During MA's first year as Men's Captain, he developed the social tennis members' ability to a high enough level to start a Men's developmental sqaud, which would become a second Men's team the following academic year.
As a result of months of training, MA led his team to a victory of 8-0 against Chichester at Varsity 2022.

2022-2023
At the beginning of his second year as Captain, MA developed an additional Men's Team (2nds) and oversaw both teams with the support of the Men's 2nds Captain.
During this year, MA's Men's 1sts team achieved their first fixture win 4-2 against Southampton 3rds, with his victory in the final match securing the win. And in addition, MA competed in the BUCS singles qualifiers event representing Winchester.
2023-2024
As MA approached his final year as Men's Captain, he was determined to ensure the continued success of the society would carry on after he graduated. He elected first year student Sam Cassin as Vice Captain and trained him to take over as Captain for the 2024/25 season.
After three years of training teams, organising events and playing matches, along with graduating with a Sports Coaching & Psychology degree, MA's journey as Men's Tennis Captain at Winchester has built solid foundations
for his career as a tennis coach.
